MadameMeow.org

Oooh, it is so good to know people.

I have a few friends who have servers, and one of them was sooo very kind to host for me! So, I know I’ve just acquired a few of you… but please bear with me! We’re moving over to my new site/blog!

Pretty snazzy, eh? Oh yes… you know you’re impressed. Don’t be a stranger! Come visit! Come read! And come comment!

It’s still a work in progress, and under construction, but the posting! It will not cease! YAY!

WordPress.org?

I’m contemplating going through WordPress.org and doing my own blog.  I’m frustrated with the lack of HTML cooperation with WordPress.com.  A lot of these widgets that I’m trying to make work just aren’t.  And it’s a pain.  And it’s frustrating.

I know a few of my friends here have their blogs through WordPress.org.  Those self-hosted type blogs.  What do you think?  Where do you host it?  Why did you choose to do it?  How much do you pay each month for your space?

Much to consider.

Not another one!

But oh yes! It is! Can you blog every day for a year??? Sure you can! From the people who brought you NaBloPoMo, I give you…. Blog 365!! ((Check out my profile!)) If you were able to post every day for a month, I am MORE than sure that you can post for a whole year, right?? Sure you can!

This is my goal. And hey, why not? They don’t always have to be posts of substance. Any old topic or post will do, just as long as you post. ((And yes, they’ve made exceptions for those who temporarily don’t have internet access, so go ahead and read up on it!))

As of yet, I’ve been blogging for several years now on various blogs, and so far, I have not been able to post every day for a whole year. But why not? I start January 1, 2008, going all the way to December 31, 2008. At the same time, I’ve been challenged by femspark over at LiveJournal to do the Project 365 ((a photo every day type thing)), so that could very easily help me towards posting every day, even if I have nothing more to say than posting a photograph.

Whether you join or you don’t, wish me luck! This is a marathon, not a sprint, so I’ll do my darndest not to burn myself out in the first couple of months.

((If you do join, add me to your friends on there!))

Products for Children

I’ve been looking in to several educational children’s products these days. Particularly those aimed towards small children. A couple, in particular, have caught my eye.

  • Baby Einstein
  • Little Laureate

Baby Einstein is probably a more recognizable name, being through Disney and whatnot. We have one DVD and a couple of books, gifts from people. Elijah seems to like them a great deal. However, I do notice that they don’t seem to span a very wide age-range.

SassyFrazz just posted a review of Little Laureate, and gave a rave review of it. Also in the post, is a contest to win one of their products! Run over there and enter! Even if you don’t have kids, this would be a great gift to someone who does! (And you can’t tell me that you don’t have anybody that you know who has kids. Seriously.)

If anybody has any other suggestions of products, I am open to any and all ideas. The thought of homeschooling has been crossing my mind a lot lately… especially as I hear more and more about the schools in this area. I am growing less and less impressed with this school district.

Elijah playing with my sister and brother-in-law (well… not by blood… but dang close!!) and his Nerf guns… learning to snipe.

A Christmas Eve Post

I’ve been baking for the greater part of the day, all in preparation for Christmas. As I’m baking, I’m sitting there, thinking to myself… but why am I baking? We won’t be here… who am I baking for? None of us will eat it. So I’ll be portioning it out onto plates and giving itDSC01658 away. I still got my baking done… I feel accomplished… and I won’t get fat! Always good!

We’re heading up to my parents’ tonight when MisterMeow gets of work, whenever that is. It’s aimed approximately around 7:30 or 8, but he might get out early… or it might take longer to get out. And so I wait.

We’ll be spending the night up at my parents’ in the spare room. That way, Elijah can open presents with Papa. Heaven knows, he and Papa are crazy about each other. Both are very excited.

I still have yet to put together our overnight bag… I really should do that. I have to pack what we’ll be taking for the night, as well as gathering Elijah’s presents to go under my parents’ tree. I thought about just keeping his presents here to open when we get home, but it just seems a tad monotonous. So we’re taking them with us. It’s not like there’s an awful lot of presents, anyway. We couldn’t afford to do too terribly much this year. ((Doesn’t that seem to be the general theme with everybody this year? Anybody noticing a trend?))

Of course, I’ll take lots of pictures, gotta bulk up for Weekly Winners on Sunday. I don’t know if I’ll get back in time to post tomorrow, so if I don’t, I wish you and yours all the best. May your season contain love, happiness, warmth, and good tidings. Remember, even if it’s small, the real reason for the holidays–besides the obvious–is family and love. So cherish those nearby. Give them hugs, and tell them you love them.

Move-It Monday

”Move-It

This is my first Move-It Monday (even though it’s currently Sunday for me) post… the first real one! Yay!

For my first post… I give you my iPod music list for this week. (I’m linking to the music videos on YouTube, so you know what song I’m talking about. As I have a shuffle, I don’t have a screen to watch anything on, so I just use the music.)

Music:

“Mouth” by Bush the American Werewolf In London version, not the original.
“Glycerine” by Bush (oof… but the lead singer is sooo sexy.)
“Harder to Breathe” by Maroon 5
“Don’t Tread On Me” by 311 (speaking of sexy lead singers… ahuminah…)
“America” by Santana (featuring POD) (this video is iffy… but it’s a good song.)
“Inside of You” by Hoobastank
“Novicaine For the Soul” by The Eels
“Volverte A Ver” by Juanes
“Hips Don’t Lie” by Shakira (someday, my hips will move like that… I hope.)
“Born to be Wild” by Hinder (the original was pretty good, but these guys don’t do too badly.)
“Cailin” by Unwritten Law
“Everything” by Fefe Dobson
“Bye Bye Boyfriend” by Fefe Dobson
“Take Me Away” by Fefe Dobson

My target area this week is my stomach. This will actually be my main target area most of the time, as this is the area that bothers me most. I’ll try to spread it out more, though, as time goes on.

My Target Heart Rate

I apologize for the Mister Linky being like this, but unfortunately, WordPress doesn’t allow for the other kind of box to fill out. So you’ll have to click on the image, and fill out the box on the new screen. ((Believe me, it is quite frustrating.))
